If you’ve got a job, you’ve probably heard that employers sometimes check their employees’ or potential employees’ Facebook profiles to see what they’re like.

According to some new research, Facebook creeping may actually be a pretty good predictor of how you’ll do in a job.Folks up at Northern Illinois University as well as Auburn and the University of Evansville are saying that based on certain parameters, you can figure out just how well someone will perform at their job; the crazy part is that it only takes about ten minutes.

They base their conclusions on five categories, which include openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. Basically, they look at the number of friends you have to see how extroverted you are, as well as where you’ve traveled to judge how open to new things and places you are.

Also, they say that having a picture while holding an alcoholic drink won’t necessarily hurt your chances (I guess they want to know that you’re serious but you’re there to party?), but a picture of you passed out in a ditch would probably be a dealbreaker.

Facebook can also be a good predictor of GPAs, believe it or not. According to the scientists, they can predict GPAs better than an IQ test.

Better start adding random friends and double-checking your drunk pics.

Mariah Carey, who looks as stunning as ever, appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to talk about heart health month, Dem Babies, new music and of course, the loss of fellow diva Whitney Houston and her recently hospitalized husband Nick Cannon. Carey and Cannon had a serious scare when he went into mild kidney failure in January.

Carey was quite candid during her chat with Robin Roberts, speaking from the heart about the late, great Houston, who passed at 48 just over a week ago.

“It was great and I don’t think people could ever understand our relationship,” Carey mused. “There was this supposed rivalry in the beginning, then we did the duet and became friends. I loved her.”

It’s been a rocky month for people in Carey’s life. Roc and Roe’s mother also spoke about Cannon’s health scare, saying, “We didn’t know how big a deal it was at that moment” about Cannon’s first stay in the hospital. Then things got worse. She admitted, “It was a gradual thing. We ended up in a couple hospitals this year already.”

Carey voiced her support for Cannon, who quit his morning drive radio show last week, since he was working way too hard and neglecting his health. She said, “The best thing I think was the choice that he made to leave the radio show and just focus on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Up All Night.’ The thing is, he’s a young healthy person. It’s about changing the lifestyle and just an awareness of what can really happen to you no matter how young or in great shape you are.”

Cannon’s missus did express that she believes he will make a glass of lemonade out of this lemon, saying, “I think, like he always does, he’s going to turn something that happened into a positive thing.”

That’s great news.

Adele‘s awards show dominance shows no signs of letting up. The British superstar won twice at today’s 2012 BRIT Awards in London, while Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and One Direction also nabbed trophies.

Adele took home Best British Female Artist and Album of the Year for ’21.’ After winning the latter award, presented by George Michael, Adele said, “I’m so proud to be flying our flag,” before being cut off by producers trying to keep the show on schedule, according to The Guardian.

The only nomination Adele lost was British Single of the Year. That award, which is decided by sales and airplay throughout the year, went to One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’ Newcomer Ed Sheeran won both British Male Artist and British Breakthrough Act, while Coldplay took Best British Group.

As for the international awards, Rihanna won for Female Artist, Bruno Mars captured Male Artist, the Foo Fighters took Best Group, and Lana Del Rey won International Breakthrough Act.

This week’s episode of ‘Glee,’ ‘On My Way,’ was all about choosing life and not backing down, but the last two seconds were shockingly somber.

It seemed like Quinn was back on top after her rebellious phase and attempts at stealing her child back earlier this season. She’s forgiven. She’s been forgiven. She’s been accepted to Yale, and in ‘On My Way,’ she was accepted back onto the Cheerios. She even made peace with Rachel, telling her she’s happy that she and Finn are getting married. But the end of ‘On My Way’ threatened to change everything for Quinn.

After Rachel hears that Quinn is okay with her getting married to Finn, she invites her to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. On the wedding day, while Finn gets sentimental and the lovebirds’ parents devise a disruption, Quinn is caught in traffic after going home to get her bridesmaid’s dress. She gets several frantic texts from Rachel, asking urgently “where are you??” As she is texting “on my way,” her car is hit by a truck.

We’ve seen Quinn go througfh a lot in her senior year, too much for her to be a victim of texting-while driving. Please be okay, Quinn, PLEASE!

The 42-year-old entertainment mogul has announced the launch of REVOLT TV, a “revolution in music on television.” The cable network will be a destination for artists and viewers to come together and engage through technology and social media.

“I had a dream that one day I would get a chance, an opportunity to show my perspective coming from a musical standpoint,” Diddy shared during his video announcement. “I take a lot of pride in having experience, the credibility, the authenticity and the relationships to make REVOLT TV the No. 1 name and home for music on television.

WWE wrestler CM Punk decided to add his two cents in the “Chris Brown is a woman beater” fight, almost two whole weeks AFTER the Grammys.  Breezy responded.  Oh yeah, it’s ON!

@CMPunk tweeted:

I would like @chrisbrown fight somebody that can defend themselves. Me curb stomping that turd would be a #wrestlemania moment.

According to TMZ, Brown then tweeted about CM Punk taking steroids and being unsatisfactory in bed with the ladies, which has been taken down.  He left this up though:

Now I understand wanting to punch Chris Brown in the face for his history with Rihanna.  But this, along with Miranda Lambert is getting close to crossing the line.

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought only hip-hop artists started feuds to get noticed.  To say Chris Brown should be “put back in his place” or “curb stomped” gets a little close to being racist if you ask me.  Not the proper choice of words to express yourself.

Lin-sanity is taking over the US.  Not only is everyone trying to come up with the most creative “Lin” saying, but it also seems like the ladies are in love (or trying to gold-dig on his fame).  Recent rumors were flying that Kim Kardashian has said she would love to date him, but he shot that down quickly.  Now, some less than educated college student is putting her name in the running to date ‘Jerry’ Lin.  You read that right.  This chick is dumb.

This FSU Kappa Delta doesn’t help the “dumb/skanky” sorority stereotype either.  Not only did she think “Jerry” was black, but she thought he played for the New York Giants.  Yes, the football team.

Well, I have to say I have been waiting for new music from Usher.  It seems to me that he has kind of fallen off the music radar.  And I am really not sure what I think about this new song “Climax.”  It’s a ballad with a beat.  But, I don’t think that Usher sounds like the Usher we remember.  I’m not sold on the track so take a listen here and let us know what you think.

If you missed SNL this passed weekend, you missed some real hilariousness!  Maya Rudolph hosted and does a sketch as Beyonce with Baby Blue Ivy and husband Jay-Z.  Also, in the sketch – a bunch of other spoofed celebrity’s – including a real appearance by Justin Timberlake!  If you missed it – check it out here and let us know what you think.

The much-anticipated “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Maya Rudolph had its fair share of celebrity guests, but the sketch that saw the most “celebs” at once had to be the Blue Ivy debut.

Rudolph reprised her Beyonce impression and Jay Pharaoh tackled Jay Z in a sketch where they show off their new baby to their world-renowned friends. One by one they all show up, including Prince (Fred Armisen), Nicki Minaj (Nasim Pedrad), Taylor Swift (Kristen Wiig) and, finally, Grammy Award-winning Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon, played by ‘SNL’ favorite Justin Timberlake.

The last time Nicolas Cage blazed across the screen was in 2007’s ‘Ghost Rider.’ Five years later, he returns in ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,’ which is not a sequel, nor a fancy Hollywood reboot; it’s simply another adventure for the man with a flaming skull. Also present are actors Idris Elba and Christopher Lambert.

This time, Nicolas Cage’s Johnny Blaze character is trying to hide from his past in a far corner of Europe. Yet, he still can’t escape his demons, when the church comes calling for a favor. The plot is a little thin in parts, but it’s best to just sit back and watch the high-speed chases. The way Ghost Rider cracks his fiery chain and destroys the villains is almost poetic. Bad guys (and even cars) zing through the air with ease, so do yourself a favor and cough up the extra fee for the 3D version.

As I said, the plot is thin and actually the bad guys leave a lot to be desired. The devil’s henchmen have to be the worst villains I’ve seen on screen since Baby’s Day Out. It’s only when one of them receives the power of “death and decay” that they becoming interesting, especially the scene where he unsuccessfully attempts to eat his lunch. As for the heroes, Nicolas Cage is slightly weirder than normal, but that’s what the character calls for. His alter ego is a demon with a flaming skull for a head, so you’d be a little nutty too. The character who I felt was the most fun to watch, is the man who recruits Johnny Blaze for this mission, Moreau, played by Idris Elba. His character is French and it appears he had some fun with his role.

The real meat of this movie is the excellent camera work done by the pair of directors famous for the ‘Crank’ films – Neveldine/Taylor. They get up close, right in the middle of fight scenes and it feels like you’re actually sitting on the bed of a truck along with the characters. An excellent example of this is a scene where Ghost Rider and his nemesis are battling on the hood of a high-speeding truck. I think it would cause the filmmakers of the Road Warrior to blush! So, if action movies are up your alley and you’re looking for something to beat the “winter blues,” say “Hell Yeah” to ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.’

So, you’ve probably heard about Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks, and the subsequent “Linsanity” that’s caught the NBA world by storm.

Unfortunately, last week’s loss kinda took the wind out of their sails, and one ESPN writer failed pretty hard at being witty.So, basically, after the Knicks lost against New Orleans last week, a genius writer for ESPN mobile wrote a story about it with the headline “A Chink In The Armor.”

If you haven’t put two and two together, Jeremy Lin is of Asian descent, and chink isn’t a very nice word.

Thankfully, ESPN acted pretty quickly on their feet and fired the dude who wrote that. They also issued this statement:

We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin. His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism, we will be better in the future.

The author, Anthony Frederico, has explained himself, saying that it was an honest mistake and that he wasn’t trying to be cute or entertaining, but see, he’s a guy who writes for a living who probably should’ve known better.
